Exciting changes are coming soon to the New Glasgow Public Library!
New Glasgow Library, as well as Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library Headquarters, will soon be undergoing some greatly anticipated renovations.
Fathom Studio, an architecture firm, has been working hard on gathering information and feedback on the future design and functionality of the library. Fathom, along with staff from the Town of New Glasgow, PARL Headquarters, and NG Public Library have met with many community groups over the past few months to better understand what our community needs are and how the library can help support the community, our citizens and the many groups and services that benefit from the library and its programming.
Construction is anticipated to start in late winter / early spring of 2024. The duration of the project is anticipated to be 12 to 18 months.
A temporary location for the library and PARL headquarters has yet to be confirmed; however, finding a temporary location in New Glasgow’s downtown is a priority of the project team. It is our goal that the library will remain in a central location and continue to provide programming and services to the public with minimal disruptions.
